Not sure if I like every aspect of it though. I think this map does make A LOT of sense. I suspect there'll be less Skaven around, but since Clan Skryre had no business being in Lustria anyway I don't mind them getting sent back to Skavenblight where they belong. Most of the settlements removed are ruins. Hell, even the Blue Vipers and Spine of Sotek Dwarfs seem to be intact. Oyxl is still there, and according to CA Lord Skrolk has not been moved.The High Elves have lost Great Turtle Isle and the Fortress of Dusk, but Teclis has been moved to the Star Tower.The Vampire Coast has lost a minor settlement, but is still there.The Settler's Coast has been absorbed into another province, but is still there.Skeggi has been demoted to a minor settlement, but is still there.Only the Southern Sentinels have been cut. Of the Lizardmen factions, Hexoatl, Tlaxtlan, Xlanhuapec, Itza, and the Sentinels of Xeti are still there.That's a total of 38 settlements, spread across 12 provinces. Due to complications in development, Creative Assembly was unable to easily merge them in like the other races, and had to re-code them from scratch. Norsca was not playable in Mortal Empires when the campaign first released. It ended up being released on Octowith the Mortal Empires update. Mortal Empires was originally supposed to be available on the release of Total War: Warhammer II (September 28, 2017). Some factions may have different names, starting positions or game mechanics. Some things have been updated and changed, compared to Total War: Warhammer. However, there is still a Chaos Invasion by the forces of Chaos. Most factions can settle anywhere, but may take penalties in bad climates. Unlike The Old World campaign, there is no regional occupation to limit colonization. Unlike Eye of the Vortex, Mortal Empires has no overall global story progression, no rituals. See Special buildings#Mortal Empires campaign for a list. The campaign features over 120 factions spread across more than 300 settlements, over 100 spells and over 350 unit types, making it the single largest campaign map ever created by Creative Assembly, prior to TWW3.Ī huge number of settlements in Mortal Empires have unique landmark buildings. Mortal Empires combines the Old World with the New World landmasses seen in the Eye of the Vortex campaign. There are over 60 playable legendary lords, most of which have their own unique start location and faction.

In Mortal Empires, you can play as any lord/faction from the first game or second game, including any paid or free DLC you own.
